As graduation draws near, the question “So, what are you doing after graduation!” seems to be more and more common.
Short story long, I recorded my plans for post graduation in the following video. Please note that these plans are subject to change and generally vary on a weekly basis.
(and p.s. please ignore the raspy voice…I am not a chain smoker, just a bit under the weather!)
thank you for posting this. i agree on so many levels ; ) also, i know that whatever you do decided to do, you will find success.
It’s because we’re twins. And I have good feelings about you and your future successes as well. So…Brazil?
I love this video. I have been completely wrapped in the nursing world for the last few years and it wasn’t until my friend talked about going to law school that I realized my skills, knowledge, and problem-solving paradigm could be applied to other areas.
We are all standing on a precipice with no idea where we will end up, but how do we deal with that uncertainty? Do we simply get scared and stressed out, or do we use it as motivation and excitement for landing an unexpectedly exciting position.
I’m so excited to see where you end up KK, see you in Portland when you finally decide to end up here?
I completely agree! It’s easy to get caught up in our majors, but removing the focus and looking at the skill set we’re taught…it can be applied to a number of career paths!
I’m excited to see where you end up as well! And yes, perhaps I will see you in Portland…maybe this summer…maybe this fall…maybe in 5 years…who knows, hopefully sooner than later (=
You are much more courageous than most. Good luck!
well thank you for the compliment, that was very kind (=
Oh, Kim, you don’t have to figure things out in 6 weeks.
Heck, I have reason to believe many of our friends in the old folks home may still be trying to figure things out. Who knows? Good luck with the end of the term. Some of the best things come into your life without any forewarning, any plan, or any notice. Not saying I am wise but I was where you were last year. If you’d like to talk careers, business, music; just know I’m more than willing to help out with your transition.
Brett! Thank you for the kind words – they are much appreciated. I agree, things don’t need to be figured out in six weeks. One thing I’ve realized about our generation is that we’re constantly at turbo speed or rushing to do the next ten things rather than enjoying the present for what it is. SO…I’m trying to do that these final weeks of school + take advantage of everything I have…then shifting focus to careers/life plan etc. (=
Either way, I’d love to chat about … all that you stated. It seems you have it pretty well figured out, and I wouldn’t mind hearing some words of wisdom (=
Hey Kim,
Have you heard of Lawrence Lessig? Check out these videos: http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/larry_lessig_says_the_law_is_strangling_creativity.html

I think you might really enjoy working on his current projects, as they have direct relevance to many of the governmental problems you were talking about.
That said, it did sound like you were interested in international relations-oriented government work. No suggestions there, but best of luck! And I look forward to reading more of your posts and tweets about it all.
