I know I talk alot about orchestra/piano/choir/music in general…but the more I think about it, the more I realize how much it has had an impact + really shaped me in terms of how I think, react, collaborate, corroborate, learn…you name it and music most likely has some connection.
One of the many amazing benefit of being involved in music is the community…honestly it blows my mind sometimes, the brainiacs (ok wow I sound like Deb), the knowledge, the talent, the passion…
One of the things that impresses me most and sets mediocre musicians apart from genius musicians in the ability to master AND combine the technical challenges with stylistic interpretation. It seems that many musicians have a strength in one side or the other, but when a musician has found the sweet spot between the two…wow.
So I want you to meet my friend Marshall – we were in orchestra together a few years back – here he is basically owning that piano and Prokofiev…at age 17? 18?
In conclusion…Marshall is a baller. Check him out:
I totally agree with you. I feel that every major accomplishment in my life can somehow be attributed to my musicianship. By the way, you friend their has quite some talent! You should check out my blog too, I think you might like it! http://pianopress.wordpress.com Thanks!
