As of yesterday, I have officially completed my internship at API…yay! [yay as in, I made it!, not yay as in, thank god I'm finished! (; ]
Last night I was joking that I’m currently in API purgatory as I have officially finished my internship but won’t official begin as a real employee until the beginning of January. So…I will be spending my metaphorical purgatory time back home in OREGON! yay! I love pretty much everything about my situation in Austin, but I am so so so so so excited to have a few weeks with friends and family.
So…to bring this full circle (or maybe 180…), I came across this video as I was organizing my comp. this morning. It’s too easy to take things/people/etc. for granted when you have them, agreed? Well, as I was watching this video of my amazing mother playing the piano, I was thinking…man, I am so lucky to have such great parents and wow, I really do miss coming home at night after work/school/home for a weekend to either hear this or play along with her.
I will be the first to admit, I get far too distracted by technology / Internet / work / school / projects etc. … can’t help that, it’s just who I am and how I roll. HOWEVER, I’m excited to try to remove myself from those things as much as possible and really focus on people and first-hand experiences this winter break. Work and school is very important, but so is finding the balance between that as well as fun/relationships/people, etc. (p.s. I hope this isn’t starting to sound like a self-help emo blog…god. lol)
So, yes, check out my mom. She is freaking bomb.com:
1) This is beautiful!
2) This would be even better (if that’s even possible!) with the iMovie ’09 video stabilization! You should give it a whirl.
3) Happy holidays!
(And 4, I like exclamation points too much. Have fun at home in dear OR.)
Hey Laura! Thank you (= I think the main issue is w the camera woman, perhaps next time! Hope all is well.
